Described as unlike any other hop that has come before it, Calypso offers brilliant flavor and aroma, covering a wide spectrum of specific descriptors: lemons, cherry blossoms, black pepper, bitter orange, mint, hints of tropical fruit and sappy, pronounced pear.
Calypso, with its versatile, evolving character and markedly smooth bittering makes for incredible beer across a range of styles. Fruity notes add crisp flavor to Pale Ales and IPAs, yet an overall complex profile adds depth to Stouts, British Bitters and especially Barleywines.
High in alpha acids and brimming with a flavor-aroma combination all its own, Calypso is a beguiling dual-purpose hop that begs for experimentation.
